Presenting the Library of Congress National Ambassador for Young People's Literature: Jacqueline Woodson

Looking for your next great read? Dive into the powerful, beautiful work of Jacqueline Woodson.

Woodson is the award-winning, internationally-acclaimed author of over 30 titles, including Harbor Me and Brown Girl Dreaming. Her work advocates diversity, hope, change and promotes the overcoming of social, racial, and psychological barriers. Woodson has written books for all ages including picture books, middle-grade fiction, and young adult and adult titles. Besides being ideal for sheer individual enjoyment, her work is perfect for book clubs, school units, and group discussions. Copies of Woodson's titles are widely available throughout the Monmouth County Library System. Place a hold on one of Woodson's titles using the Monmouth County Library app or stop by your local branch.

On October 16th at 4:00 pm, presented by the Literary Alliance of New Jersey, join us for a streaming of Woodson’s Q&A video event, as well as activities celebrating her work and art. This event is recommended for tweens, teens, and adults and will be held in the lower gallery of the Headquarters, Manalapan Branch. Halloween Costume Swap / Drop Off PDF Print Email

Come and tTrick or Treatersrade in last year's Halloween costume for a gently used one that will surely impress!  

We are accepting complete Halloween costumes for babies, children, teens, adults and pets for Costume Exchange Ticket to be redeemed on October 3, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  Read on for details!

We cannot accept costumes that are torn, dirty, or wouldn't be desirable to another family. Have your costumes on hangers, place all loose parts and accessories in a labeled zip lock bagAll costumes should be brought to the Public Relations Office (across from the vending machines) for a Costume Exchange Ticket which can be redeemed October 3, from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Costumes accepted September 9-27 from 9:00-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday only in the PR office.
